The Utah trademark and service mark search allows users to find marks based on keyword, registrant name, or registration number. A mark can consist of words, designs, or other devices to identify goods manufactured or sold by someone (trademark) or services provided (service mark).[1]
Marks can be registered for a fee with the Division of Corporations for a five-year term.[2] Registration can be renewed every five years as long as the renewal is filed within the six-month period before expiration or the six-month grace period afterward.[3]
Trademark Search
1. Visit the Trademark Search Portal
2. Enter Search Options
The portal can be used to search for trademarks or service marks by keyword, registrant name, or registration (“license”) number.
3. Perform Search
To obtain a list of marks that contain a certain word, enter the keyword in to the Keyword field and click Search.
4. View Results
The page of results will show all marks that contain the entered keyword along with their filing number, registrant name, and status.
5. View Mark Details
For more information on a specific mark, click on the mark’s title. This will open up a page with the applicant’s details (name, address, etc.), a description of the trademark, the goods/services associated with it, the filing status, registration date, expiration date, and federal filing information.
