New Jersey DBA & Trademark Search | Secretary of State

The New Jersey trade name and trademark status report webpage allows users to search for trade names, trademarks, and service marks registered in the state. To view a trademark or trade name’s full status report, users must pay a fee that varies by selection. Trademarks are valid for a period of 5 years subject to renewal 6 months before the expiration date.[1]

Applications to register a trademark are submitted to the Secretary of State via the Department of Treasury, and must adhere to state regulations, including 3 examples of the mark.[2]
